Possible Wedding Venue

We went to visit Kirstead Hall a few weeks ago with a view to be able to offer it as a back drop for wedding marquees in the future. The place is owned by a lovely friendly couple called Judy & Dermot Murphy. They actually offer guided tours of the hall and its grounds and Dermot runs his antique restoration business from there.

As you can see from the photos it really is a lovely building and a beautiful back drop for a wedding venue. There is plenty of room to install a marquee which could seat up to 150 people at round tables with room for a dancefloor. There is plenty of car parking space, disabled access and even an area which is sectioned off and safe for children to play in. There is a church across the road, within 5 minutes walk should the bride and groom chose to do everything all in one place. The nice thing about having a wedding at Kirstead Hall is that you can pick which caterers you want to use and whether you have your own bar or hire in your favourite pub to serve you. Plus there is plenty of local B&Bs should guests wish to stay nearby overnight.

Kirstead Hall are willing to let couples hire out their grounds to celebrate their weddings at and supply electricity so you don't have to worry about generators or the like. The only thing you would have to hire in is toilets.

Ufford Park Hotel

Ufford Park Hotel Golf Spa We recently visited Ufford Park Hotel in Woodbridge. The hotel is set in lovely grounds just off the A12. They have a nice piece of land should anyone need space to put up a marquee for a wedding or corporate event. There is plenty of room for a large marquee, so we could easily cater for 400-500 guests if required. Ufford Park also has the advantage of being able to offer rooms at a very reasonable rate should anyone be travelling any distance. They also have a delightful spa which seems to receive nothing but good reviews so if you were going for a wedding you could use this to ensure you are totally relaxed for the big day. Bear this place in mind if you have a large guest list to cater for and no grounds to put the marquee.

Lowestoft Airshow

Lowestoft recently held its annual airshow. It was a huge success despite the awful weather on the Sunday. Luckily we provided a large marquee for the beer tent on the Royal Green this year so at least people could stay dry whilst getting refreshments!! The Red Arrows finished the show both days and were amazing as usual. Lets hope this event goes ahead next year.

Good Wedding Venues

We recently went to visit St Peters Brewery and can recommend this as a perfect venue for a wedding.

The building is a former 13th century monastery set within lovely grounds. If you book your wedding with St Peters Brewery you get the whole building and grounds exclusively to yourselves and your wedding party for the day and evening. There is a little chapel room upstairs in the old monastery where the ceremonies are held. Downstairs there is a cosy bar area plus a lovely old room where you can have your wedding breakfast. This room can cater for up to 60 guests.

As the owner and his son are chefs the menu is not set which is fantastic as it means you can have a tailor made menu to cater for your own styles and tastes. We ate a lovely lunch time meal there and the food was superb. There is even a brewery on site (which was founded in 1996) so if you are a beer lover you get to try lots of different types.

If you plan to have a larger wedding with more than 60 guests the venue can hire in marquees so that you have your wedding breakfast out on the lawns, overlooking the moat, which is where we come in. You can then have your evening entertainment split between the marquee and the monastery giving you plenty of inside and outside space to enjoy your special day. It really is a perfect venue for your very own unique wedding.

If you are interested in booking a wedding at St Peters Brewery please contact us or the Brewery direct. We are happy to supply the marquees for your event.

We also visited a lovely little B&B in Homersfield.

This is an old farmhouse in the middle of the countryside, run by a very friendly couple. If you cannot find a venue for your wedding and want a marquee that you can dress up as you wish then Heath Farm House are happy to provide the grounds for your wedding.

Homersfield Church is a short distance away so everything can be kept local, you can then bring in your own caterers, bar and decorations to ensure that your wedding is exactly as you always dreamed it would be.

If this is of interest please have a look at the setting on http://www.invitationtoview.co.uk/properties/heath-farmhouse.asp or contact us for more details.
